Radiesse is an FDA approved dermal injectable filler for replenishing the volume of aging, sagging skin. Unlike hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers, Radiesse consists of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel. It’s biocompatible and gets absorbed by the body over time.

Radiesse works by stimulating the tissue regeneration and the production of collagen, providing immediate and extended results.

Collagen is a natural substance in the body that provides firmness and smoothness of the skin. With aging, excessive sun exposure the supply of collagen decreases leading to the formation of wrinkles and lost volume. Radiesse not only replenishes the lost volume, but also stimulates the growth of new collagen.

There are many issues Radiesse is used to correct: nasolabial folds, marionette and smile lines, chin wrinkles, hollowness of the temples, pre-jowls, tear troughs. It’s also used for the facial contouring, cheek augmentation and hand rejuvenation.

The results are visible immediately and last one year or more, depending on the individual’s skin and health characteristics, muscle movement and injector’s technique.

There are, of course, some instances when the use of Radiesse is contraindicated.
